BACE Education Scholarships
The BACE Educational Scholarship Award recognizes merit in academics, leadership, and the potential for success in special talent areas such as athletics and the arts, regardless of race or ethnicity.
BACE will award scholarships of up to $1,500 each during the annual Juneteenth Scholarship Ceremony. These include scholarships to deserving high school seniors and to a deserving undergraduate student(s).
In addition, BACE is honored to award the Dovie Greene Jackson Memorial Scholarship (for undergraduates) and the Tommy Hoyt Memorial Scholarship (for high school seniors).
How to apply for the BACE Educational Scholarship
Applicant Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for a scholarship:
You must be
- A graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student with at least a 2.5 grade point average
- Planning to attend, or currently attending, an accredited post-secondary education institution
Submission Deadline
Applicants will automatically be disqualified if all required documents are not submitted or postmarked by 12:00am(midnight) on April 30, 2025.
If awarded the scholarship, the recipient or representative must be present at the 2025 Juneteenth celebration ceremony on June 02, 2025, to receive the award.
The scholarship must be used within one year of the date awarded. Funds will be disbursed, directly to the school, when a letter of enrollment is received by the BACE Scholarship Committee.

- A two- to three-page typed essay.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation.
- SAT/ACT assessment scores (not applicable for undergraduates).
- Original sealed high school or current college transcript.
- A headshot and short bio to be used on the website if you are chosen to receive the scholarship.
