The BACE board is forming a team to walk in the Susan G. Komen “More than Pink” walk.

All agency employees are welcome to sign up to join our team and walk along with us for this marvelous cause. All employees joining our team will be meeting at 7:30am in a special parking lot area.   

BACE would love to receive special recognition from other Susan G. Komen foundation for meeting its goal!  If we meet most of our goal a couple weeks before the walk, we will receive free t-shirts for our day of the walk.

There will be a sign-up list for employees to register to walk with the BACE board members to walk in the Susan G. Komen “More than Pink” walk.  More information forthcoming for those that sign up to walk with us.

BACE presents… Pink for a Purpose Party!

BACE is inviting agency employees to join us in this awareness event by wearing pink, Wednesday October 9th.

8:00am – 4:00pm: Big Pink bus scheduled on property all day.  BACE is currently accepting appointments on behalf of the Lonestar Circle of Care. Please contact Bobbie Thomas x60760 or any 2024 BACE board member to sign up and receive the pre appointment paperwork to submit to Lonestar Circle of health for your appointment.

11:00am – 1:00pm: BACE “Pink for a Purpose” party in the LBJ Breezeway.  There will be “free” pink cupcakes, pink cookies and pink lemonade served. 

A give-a-way of an abundance of pink items and name entries for drawings of baskets full of “pink gifts.”

12:30 pm: There will be a speaker from Lonestar Circle of Care talking about the importance of breast cancer awareness for men and women.

Employees can donate to the BACE team site to help us reach our goal of $1500.00 for the Susan G. Komen walk.  There will also be “pink” donation jars.

1:30pm: Agencywide employees dressed in pink are welcome to join us on the Capital Mall near the Bob Bullock Museum for a picture as we form the pink breast cancer ribbon with our bodies.

2024 BACE Juneteenth Scholarship Luncheon

Save the date, Wednesday June 12th 11:30 – 1:00pm for the 2024 BACE Juneteenth Scholarship Luncheon. You do not want to miss out on this exciting, memorable experience of scholarship presentations along with great food and marvelous entertainment.

The Black American Comptroller Employees Association, Inc. (BACE) is now accepting applications for the 2024 BACE Educational Scholarship Award.  BACE will award seven scholarships of up to $1,000 each during the 2024 BACE Juneteenth Scholarship Ceremony. These scholarships include:

  • Three scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
  • One scholarship to a deserving undergraduate student.

In addition, BACE is honored to award the Dovie Greene Jackson Memorial Scholarship (for undergraduates) and the Tommy Hoyt Memorial Scholarship (for high school seniors).

Hurricane Harvey Relief Fundraiser

BACE and CPA Vets are hosting a fundraiser the morning of Wednesday, September 6, to raise money and supplies for Comptroller employees impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

DONATION COLLECTION

Where: LBJ 1st floor breezeway
When: Wednesday, September 6
                 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The fundraiser will consist of a breakfast sale and donation collection. The breakfast sale will be held in Austin in the LBJ Building ground floor lobby beginning at 7:30 a.m. until food items are sold out. Items to be sold include sausage wraps, breakfast tacos, donuts, pastries, juice, soft drinks and bottled water.

Donations of physical items, like canned goods, and other relief supplies, will be accepted in the LBJ 1st floor breezeway from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, September 6.

Here is a list physical items to consider donating:
