BACE 2024 Education Scholarships

The Black American Comptroller Employees Association, Inc. (BACE) is now accepting applications for the 2024 BACE Educational Scholarship Awards. BACE is dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation for the African American culture and heritage by supporting charitable and
educational activities.

The BACE Educational Scholarship Award recognizes merit in academics, leadership, and the potential for success in special talent areas such as athletics and the arts, regardless of race or ethnicity.

BACE will award scholarships of up to $1,000 each during the annual Juneteenth Scholarship Ceremony. These include scholarships to deserving high school seniors and to a deserving undergraduate student(s).

In addition, BACE is honored to award the Dovie Greene Jackson Memorial Scholarship (for undergraduates) and the Tommy Hoyt Memorial Scholarship (for high school seniors).

Application Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for a scholarship:

Complete the 2024 BACE Scholarship Award Application.

• Be a graduating high school senior or a current undergraduate student.
• Have at least a 2.5-grade point average.
• Plan to attend or are currently attending an accredited post-secondary
educational institution.

ALL the following documents must be submitted for consideration of a scholarship:

• The 2024 BACE Scholarship Award Application.
• A two- to three-page typed essay.
• Three (3) letters of recommendation.
• SAT/ACT assessment scores (not applicable for undergraduates).
• Original sealed high school or current college transcript.

Application Submission Information

Applicants will automatically be disqualified if all required documents are not submitted and postmarked by May 15, 2024.

If awarded the scholarship, the recipient or representative must be present at the 2024 Juneteenth celebration ceremony on June 12, 2024, to receive the award.

The scholarship must be used within one year of the date awarded. Funds will be disbursed, directly to the school, when a letter of enrollment is received by the BACE Scholarship Committee.
