2022 Scholarship Recipients

BACE Education Scholarship

The Black American Comptroller Employees Association, Inc. (BACE) Educational Scholarships have been awarded. Please see below for details on the amazing students that received awards:

2022 Award Recipients: 

BACE High School Scholarships

  • Briana Bailey

Daughter of Devin with the Enforcement Division and  Katrina Bailey. Briana graduated from Round Rock High School. She plans on attending the University of North Texas to play volleyball while majoring in Biology with a future in orthodontics. Briana hopes to open her own practice so that she can provide world-class dental hygiene and orthodontics care to underserved communities.

  • DaMante Jordan McBride

Son of Sgt. Steve & Tasha McBride. DaMante has accepted an academic scholarship to attend Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX. He will major in Criminal Justice. He plans a career in Law. His aspiration is to be a criminal defense attorney.  While attending TLU, DaMante will also compete as an athlete in Track and XC.

  • Kymorah V. Carter

Recipient of the Tommy Hoyt  Memorial ScholarshipDaughter of Nicky & Vincent Carter senior, graduating with honors from Cedar Park High School in Cedar Park, Texas. She will attend Jackson State University in the fall and play volleyball.  Kymorah would love to become a Bioengineer (Biomedical Engineer), a branch of engineering that combines the design and problem-solving techniques with biological and medical sciences to improve health-related and medical problems. I’d love to build an artificial heart, colon, or lung, build prostheses and/or prosthetics, explore the use of stem cells that can be used for the growth of tissues or organs, etc.

BACE Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Yasmin Glasper

Daughter of Baytina Smith of Professional Development Division and John Glasper. She is a full-time graduate student studying Family Studies at Texas Woman’s University. Yasmin’s goals are to be of assistance with our family’s non-profit organization to help single mothers, such as myself, achieve their personal career and educational goal and work towards advancing my career in Cyber Security.

  • Pranav Mandyam

Son of Diptha & Raghu Mandyam. He is the nephew of Laxmikrupa Shrinivas, who is an enforcement officer at the Houston Southwest Office. Pranav will attend Rice University with a  major in  Biosciences. He aspires to become a physician in the future.

  • Kennedi Carter

Recipient of the Dovie Greene Jackson Memorial Scholarship. Daughter of Nicky Carter, Vincent Carter. She attends Prairie View with a major in Nursing. Kennedi plans to work in a top health care facility working with infant babies as a neonatal nurse.
